The lesson that really stood out to me was Chapter 2.2.6 (Windows Settings) and 2.2.7 (Windows Settings Facts. Although it's not necessarily the most exciting of the topics, it was definitely the most helpful. Before having a Windows computer HP and iOS were the only systems that were familiar to me. When starting IS101-3003 I realized that there was so much that I had to learn to be comfortable with Microsoft Windows systems. These Windows chapters broke down the settings and taught me some new tips and tricks along the way!
The most helpful setting explained was the topic of Systems. In this setting, there are options to change the system's display, sound, power, configure notifications, and storage. What I did not know is that it's possible to configure display resolutions which allows us to personalize how our display looks. For example, we can increase the size of texts when it comes to any aspect of the computer. If reading texts, websites, word documents, and videos is difficult in a normal font this personalization will definitely be helpful. I used this action to increase my text from 100% to 150% since smaller texts are harder for me to see. Personalizing my Microsoft settings will definitely aid in getting my work done more efficiently in the future.
I agree, I'm learning so many tidbits of knowledge from this course. I thought I was pretty versed in Windows, but I guess not.
ReplyDeleteWindows settings *are* exciting ^_^
ReplyDeleteGlad 2.2.6 and 2.2.7 taught you new tips and tricks :-)
Yes, personalize how your display looks can definitely aid in getting your work done more efficiently!
I agree, I am also learning how to use the shortcuts as well.
ReplyDeleteI also forgotten how to use the Window system. It's crazy how big iOS system had gotten over the years!
ReplyDeleteSuper helpful. I work with both systems every day and more often than not I try to copy and paste using the "Ctrl" button in my Apple computer.
ReplyDeleteI have mentioned this before, but iOS has always been the "top dog" for me when it comes to software speed and efficiency. However, Windows on the computer side of things just dominates when it comes to features and overall adaptivity. I was never well versed in Windows Settings before this class, but these sections have definitely improved my understanding. Windows Settings are very useful, as you have mentioned, to improve someone's efficiency. Well said on that aspect!
ReplyDeletePersonalization is so much fun! I've always enjoyed playing with these settings to make my computer feel like my own digital space.
ReplyDeletethe first thing I do when I get on a computer is just go to setting and adjust it to how I prefer
ReplyDeleteYes, personalizing your display allows you to work more efficiently. Knowing where things are set up will help you cut time and make things smoother because you are more familiar with the settings.
ReplyDeleteI love the option to personalize my display. It was the first thing I did after learning this in lab Sim.
