I had a love-hate (mostly love) relationship with IS101. This class has pushed me to think critically, develop skills in computer literacy, and, most importantly, earn my Microsoft Word and Excel certifications. Although these are great accomplishments, they couldn’t have been accomplished without hard work. I would say that I had the most work in this class than in any other class in a very long time. At times, I was stressed and wasn’t sure if I could complete the class. This is the reason that the skills I developed are so rewarding. I know that I couldn’t have completed this class with the grade I have without the effort I put in. I also would like to acknowledge how much help Mr. Wu provided throughout this whole semester. He was always willing to help his students, no matter what time of day. He is truly a great teacher, and he only wishes the best for his students. Thank you, IS101!

ReplyDeleteI am proud of your choice to show up on the final class session despite being heavily under the weather, even more proud of your courage to ask for help with the capstone assignment, and most proud of your unyielding perseverance to take the hints from me until you figured out how to use the Mail Merge wizard to start the capstone assignment properly!
Transitioning one's mindset out of 'always having step-by-step instructions or videos' cultivated by LabSim into an independent spirit that will (a) evaluate the business scenario and requirements, (b) take stock of and analyze the available materials, and (c) use the available materials to fulfill the business scenario and requirements; can be a daunting journey. I'm glad you didn't let go and will grow your independent spirit to match your overachiever mindset. May you succeed in any academic and professional endeavor that you choose to put your mind and energy to, Leina ^_^
This semester was definitely a challenge for me as well. Many times I found myself stressed as well but as you said, hard work eventually paid off. This was such a successful semester.
